What do auditions look like?
Auditions for Groove are a fun, informal process where you will be taught an excerpt from one of our main songs (no prior experience necessary!) and then you will perform a 2 minute talent of your choosing. In the past some people have juggled, given monologues, or even yee-hawed! (:
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN GROOVERS?
First off we want to say that zero musical or performance experience is required at all! So many Groovers over the years have never played music or performed in front of an audience until they joined. In future Groovers, we are looking for creative, kind people who are willing to learn, have some musical intuition, and enjoy performing!
What is the time commitment for groove?
Your time commitment to Groove is what you choose to make of it. We rehearse for 4 hours twice a week (Thursday 6-10pm and Sundays 12-4pm). However, you are only required to attend rehearsals for the songs you choose to be in, so the world is your oyster as far as commitment goes. You can be at rehearsal for 8 hours a week or 1 hour depending on how involved you want to be!
